A Soft Place to Land.
A Strong Place to Grow.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide faith‑rooted, youth‑centered support that empowers young people ages 16–24 to build stable, independent, and purpose‑driven lives. We create safe housing, deliver personalized coaching, teach essential life skills, and remove the barriers that stand between youth and their goals.
Through compassion, consistency, and a belief in every young person’s potential, we walk alongside youth as they heal, grow, and step confidently into the future they choose.
Through holistic guidance, meaningful relationships, and opportunities that foster growth, we help youth heal from instability, develop new strengths, and take bold steps toward independence. We exist to ensure every young person has the foundation, encouragement, and community they need to thrive.
Our Commitment
Hattie’s House is more than a program — we are a community of support, belonging, and belief. At Hattie’s House, every young person is met with consistency, compassion, and the unwavering conviction that their life has value and purpose. We walk alongside youth with the steadiness of family and the intentionality of mentors, creating an environment where healing is possible and growth is expected.
Our commitment is to see the whole person — their story, their strengths, their struggles, and their dreams — and to provide the stability, guidance, and opportunities that help them rise. We cultivate spaces where young people can rebuild confidence, practice new skills, and discover who they are becoming. Here, youth are encouraged to take bold steps, make meaningful choices, and shape a future that reflects their potential.
We promise to show up with patience, presence, and practical support — offering coaching, life‑skills development, spiritual encouragement, and a community that refuses to give up on them. We believe in walking with youth through every stage of their journey, celebrating their victories, supporting them through setbacks, and reminding them that they are never alone.
At Hattie’s House, commitment means creating a place where young people can breathe, grow, and imagine new possibilities. It means building trust, nurturing resilience, and empowering youth to move from surviving to thriving. We stand with them as they step into independence, purpose, and hope — and we honor every milestone along the way.
Hattie’s House Youth Solutions is a faith‑rooted, youth‑centered organization dedicated to helping unaccompanied unhoused young people ages 16–24 build stable, independent, and purpose‑driven lives. We believe every young person deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to thrive — and our sole mission is to make that possible.
Fueled by our passionate belief that every young person is created with inherent worth — deserving to be seen, heard, and treated with compassion — we exist to walk with youth as they rebuild stability, confidence, and purpose.
Grounded in compassion and guided by our commitment to holistic support, we walk alongside youth as they navigate the challenges of housing instability, limited resources, and the transition into adulthood. Our approach blends practical support with genuine care, ensuring each young person is seen, valued, and empowered to shape their own future.
The Heart Behind Our Work
Hattie’s House exists because our founder knows what it feels like to grow up without stability, guidance, or a safety net. After her father’s murder and her mother’s battles with addiction, her childhood was marked by displacement and uncertainty, living at the mercy of relatives whose support came inconsistently and unpredictably. Raised in environments where nothing was guaranteed, she learned early how to navigate life independently, make hard decisions, and rebuild more than once. Those experiences didn’t break her — they built her. They created the clarity, empathy, and fire that now fuel Hattie’s House.
In those unstable environments, she endured physical abuse and the deep ache of being unwanted, unseen, and unprotected. With both parents absent, she carried a profound sense of isolation — as though she had been forgotten in the very world that once felt secure.
Her life took a pivotal turn when a family member intervened, ensuring she was legally placed with her grandmother, Dr. Hattie B. Gray — the namesake of Hattie’s House. In Hattie’s home, she finally found refuge. She experienced the safety, stability, and nurturing guidance that had been missing since her father’s death and her mother’s addiction took its lasting toll on their family. Hattie provided the security and direction every young person needs to thrive, restoring hope where abandonment had once taken root.
As she grew older, she saw how many young people were forced to figure out adulthood alone, carrying responsibilities and burdens they were never prepared for. She recognized her own story in theirs — the instability, the fear, the pressure to survive without support.
Marie’s journey from abandonment to refuge is the foundation of our mission today. Her lived experience fuels our passion for creating spaces of safety, empowerment, and transformation for youth — ensuring that no young person feels forgotten.
Hattie’s House was born from that lived reality, not theory. It was created to make sure youth have a place to land, breathe, reset, and grow. To give them structure, coaching, life skills, and barrier‑removal support that actually meets their needs.
She often wonders where she would have ended up if not for her very own “Hattie’s House” — and thanks God that she never had to find out. So our why is simple: no young person should have to survive the world alone. Hattie’s House stands in the gap — stabilizing, equipping, and empowering youth so they can build futures rooted in confidence, independence, and hope.
